Girl geek dinners around New Zealand

geeky women

Auckland
=======
An event is being planned for Thursday 3rd June. The theme will be
gadgets. Various companies are currently being approached to see if
we can borrow cool new gadgets to play with for the evening. If you
have any gadgets you'd like to share, please get in touch with
amanda.jackson@fronde.com.

Canterbury
========
Canterbury Geek Girl Dinners will be held again soon with plans afoot
to hold a dinner over in the west of Christchurch. They'll be saying
Haere Ra to co-founder Anchen le Roux who is returning to South Africa
for a year. The Canterbury group are in the process of reorganising
their committee.

Canterbury has an innovative IT industry, so the group are looking at
ways of enhancing networks between women in IT and women who love
technologies in the Canterbury region through fun, support, and
recognition of the great work being done.

Tauranga

The last event in Tauranga was on the 24th Feb and was a great
success.

The next dinner will be on 19th May at No.1 The Strand (which is now
the permanent venue - great food/service and no hireage fee yay!).
Topics for the May dinner are social networking from Fran Bailey at
Village PR, and an insight into a local IT company Vision Software and
one of their staff members, Kate Le Petit.
